Hi There Angie. Do you also have a loved one who you are caring for? I can't figure out if you are just representing the Hospice organization or you also are a caregiver. I'm a Corporate Finance type who has put her career on hold to deal with COPD. I have found a small network for copd'ers and caregivers but we are so scattered about and alienated in many aspects from living a normal life. It is all about making hard decisions now after years of the loved one knowing he/she really really really needed to quit smoking. So from my perspective...they won. They have smoked themselves silly and now it is my job as the first born child to step up to the plate and deal with this mess. Seeing the suffering is awful. All I can do is make sure the meds are delivered in the right combinations etc...ensure dr appts are attended, ensure oxygen is working properly and at the right level. Now I cannot focus on my life and being a mother to my three kids because I'm dealing with this and NO ONE IN THE FAMILY CARES TO GET INVOLVED. Mom doesn't want to leave Virginia...I have family in Wichita who would be available to help if we were there...but until we pull the trigger to move, there is no help beyond paid caregivers. It is extremely frusterating. And I am a type A workaholic in an area with NO job market for people like me and plus even if I did get a job...we are always on the edge of hospital and / or dying.
Hello! Just poke around a bit more. We could get together on the phone and I could guide you through what I have learned about Ning. For now, we can write on the wall! I am a caregiver. What is your role? Thanks!
